81/365

day 81.
this was a Practice Portraiture day.
the theme...
On Their Terms.

harder than it sounds.
i wanted the perfect photos.

'do this, no- not that.. c'mon, please.'
i had to bite my tongue a couple times to stop myself from trying to get them to do it my way.
but what great shots i got letting them choose the photo.

'the boys'
my friends' kids.

and my model.
my girl.

 letting kids be kids..
some great fun.

73/365, 80/365

Hey there.
as you all know, i'm behind on these posts.
day 73...
i didn't take the photos challenge specific, but as i looked back to see if i had any that fit the theme i saw this one (of many)
the theme is:
HARD.

it is hard to get the night sky to look exactly as i see it.
this one was the closest i could get with my lens.

day 80:
Spring?

it is still March in the photo...
a day or 2 after my little girl's birthday.
it is officially spring,

71/365

i was excited for this day.
(by the way it was supposed to be day 72, and i took it on day 72.. but when i edited it i put 71..so day 71 it is.)

i was excited for this day because my dad would be here for the challenge.
he was the best subject i could think of for it.

my dad was born in Northern Ireland.
he is an immigrant to Canada.
he is the oldest of 9 kids.
i adore my dad.

my brother and i are 1st generation Canadian.
(mom from the U.S of A, dad from Ireland)
my brother is blond with blue/green eyes;
gifted from our scandinavian heritage on my moms side.

but my dark hair and blue eyes were a gift from my dad.

my dad is...
day 71:
IRISH

68/365 (still in March!) 69/365; 70/365

day 68:

Emerging

Saturday night,
at the beginning of the March Break,
we slept in our quinzee.
Sunday's challenge was Emerging.
here's my family emerging from the quinzee sunday morning.

later that day my boy wanted me to take a photo of his animals emerging from their house.

day 69:
Assymetrical.

my face is not symmetrical...that would make it Asymmetrical...see.

so it is actually symmetrical in that if you drew a line down the centre;
it has the same things on each side...
but... in this photo my mouth is almost completely on one side.

day 70:

64/365

day 64:
A Story in Three

i thought for a little while trying to figure out how to take a photo of this.
3 photos to tell a story in some way?
then i began thinking about  what stories do i know that are in three clear parts.

written as one.
split into three books.
we have one amazing, classic story of adventure and courage.
i hadn't read it as a kid.
i saw the first movie actually and after that i purchased and read the whole thing set
within the next month or two.
(including the Hobbit, but it's a story on it's own)

so here it is.
a story in three.

62/365

Monday March 3rd was the 62nd day of the challenge.
i took some photos this day.

the theme? you ask.
it was a Macro theme.

day 62:
Choose a Favorite
favorite?
hmmm.
something i could take in Macro.
my girl was having a bath, and i saw her little feet.
i had her put her feet up for me and took this photo of her little piggies.

i approached my boy for some assistance with this one.

we set up the tripod, removed the lens, reversed it and he took the following photos,
with my help.

i had him pick a favorite piece of Lego.
he chose this blue diamond.
from his museum set.

we had to have someone stealing the blue diamond.

60/365

we're into March.
the first of March was also day 60 of the 365 day challenge.

day 60:
self-portrait.
Step Outside

it was a beautiful day to step outside.
i grabbed my tri-pod and Gertie, and headed out.

i realized i could go a little closer...
so i did.

yes, i stick my tongue out a lot.

i actually really like these pics.
(this last one being my fave.)

i asked my boy what i could take a photo of that was RED.
Spiderman.

i had my tea in a red mug...

once the kidlets were at school i got out the boy's Lego.
i love Lego...

this one's my favorite.

40/365 & 41/365

yep, skipped day 39: hand-tinted...
easy to skip that one.

day 40:
A Little Heart
I have seen hearts made with the right light, a ring and a book, usually the Bible.
so i figured i'd give it a try today.

i grabbed my Bible and opened it...
no, not to any specific page, just random.
placed my wedding band on it and held my headlamp.
it was awkward, i tried to hold the light in the right way and take the photo.
this is what i got:

day 41:
It's Still Winter

yes it is.
See this boardwalk without the snow: HERE

snowmobile tracks leaving the boardwalk and heading out on the lake.

um...
ok.

one day it will not still be winter.
but for now it is.

38/365

day 38:
Old School

hmmm.
old school.
i thought about actually finding an old school building.
but then didn't.
i came up with a better idea.
or, an idea i liked better.

i have cross country skis.
i have old school cross country skis.
yes, yes i do.

so they became my photo project.

day 38 was also the opening ceremony of the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia.
these were the Olympic themed skis of my 5th year of life.
wow.

34/365 & 37/365

i know, i've missed quite a few days so far in February.
the last entry had day 31.
32- self-portrait: In the Dark.  sorry, planned on doing it...didn't.
33- a silhouette.  no reason. just didn't do it.  obviously i did other things that occupied my time.

day 34:
macro photo
Soft
my fuzzy pom-pom on the top of my toque.

day 35: heartwarming.
day 36: from the top.

day 37:
Shadows.
this was a thursday.
Feb 6th.
my girl and i were about to head out to the Ladies Bible Study i attend each week.
i checked my list of prompts to see that day's prompt.
i looked up from said list and saw the sun shining brightly through our dining room window.
my girl was my model.
we had fun capturing her shadow on the basement door.
i debated cutting her out of the shots and just taking the photos of her shadows, but i thought it'd be fun to see a little of her.

we had fun with the last one.
not easy to pose a 4 year old who isn't quite sure what i'm seeing through my lens.
she listened quite well, and loved seeing the outcome of her grabbing her shadow.

we went to Bible Study.
when we came out of the church a couple hours later it was overcast.
and stayed that way the rest of the day.
so glad i took the opportunity provided in the morning.
so much nicer than artificial light.
