Family Flashback

I was so into doing month and year challenges that i neglected to show you what else i was photographing.
i had shown you some pics from a wedding June 2013. HERE
but what did i do after that?
just challenges?
nope.

November 2013 i did a family photo shoot for a wonderful family.
we had a lot of fun and absolutely beautiful weather.

here's a glimpse of that special memory building day.

what beautiful girls.  so much fun and full of smiles for me.
i love daddy & daughter(s) photos.

love this face!

i was waiting for everyone to be ready for the first part of the shoot.
this little one came out of her room and wandered into the kitchen.
she was talking to herself..or someone in her imagination..
it was so cute.  i had to capture it.

so much fun!
what a wonderful fall day we had.

A Reflection of Summer

I don't know about where you live.
summer where i live had cooler temperatures and cloudier, rainier days than we had hoped for.
many people complained about the weather...the lack of warm sunny days.
what's summer vacation without sunshine, sunburns and sunglasses?

i'll tell you what it is.
the kids are home.
we have two months to play, create, laugh, sleep, cry, fight, argue,
and make the bestest memories ever...
regardless of the weather.

i want to give you a glimpse of our summer...
reflected on their faces.

some days i did look out the window and sigh,
then, most days, i chose to enjoy it.

what a great summer.

81/365

day 81.
this was a Practice Portraiture day.
the theme...
On Their Terms.

harder than it sounds.
i wanted the perfect photos.

'do this, no- not that.. c'mon, please.'
i had to bite my tongue a couple times to stop myself from trying to get them to do it my way.
but what great shots i got letting them choose the photo.

'the boys'
my friends' kids.

and my model.
my girl.

 letting kids be kids..
some great fun.

60/365

we're into March.
the first of March was also day 60 of the 365 day challenge.

day 60:
self-portrait.
Step Outside

it was a beautiful day to step outside.
i grabbed my tri-pod and Gertie, and headed out.

i realized i could go a little closer...
so i did.

yes, i stick my tongue out a lot.

i actually really like these pics.
(this last one being my fave.)

20/365 & 21/365

day 20:
Upset.

i didn't take a photo of this.

instead i chose to take a picture of my daughter.
i had promised her that we'd do rags in our hair on the weekend.
we didn't.
so she asked if i could do them after dinner.
while she watched tv i put hers in.
(i put mine in after she went to bed)

so my theme yesterday became:
Promise Kept

this morning after we took out all the rags.
don't the curls suit my little one.
she is so bouncy.
i don't know if today she was more bouncy because of the curls or if the curls revealed how bouncy she really is...
but she bounces everywhere - i should have named her Tigger.

day 21:
In a Bowl
I thought about this one...
i thought about taking a pic of the kids cereal this morn.
or my cream of wheat.
i thought about putting things in a bowl to make it how i wanted.

i decided to take our reflection in a bowl instead.
my mixing bowls.
the best one to take a reflection in.

just hanging out on the counter.

and finally, my girl.  look at her smile...
can you see it?
she needs her bangs cut - thats the hair hanging.
