family

I am mom to these two crazy kids.

i just love them so much.
i wish they could pause at this age right now.

The Lord saw me as the perfect fit for them.
they are so different,
yet, so much the same.

They love to have fun.
they love to challenge themselves.
they love to laugh,
and laugh loud.
they love mommy and daddy.
they love each other.

some moments i get so mad or frustrated with them.
sometimes they feel the same about me.

that's what family is.
one minute you want to yell, scream and rip your hair out.
you want to lock the person out of the house or your room so you don't have to hear or see them.
the next minute you want that person to be right there with you.
to laugh, hug, cry.
to play with and be silly.
you don't want to be without that person.
ever.

they see your worst and your best and love you for it all.

Monday Munchkin

happy monday!
what a beautiful autumn day.
the colors are changing,
the cooler temperatures are here.
and today is a new day.

today i wanted to share with you one of my munchkins.
we took this last week.

i love this girl.
she had me put that flower in her ponytail, and then needed a photo with it in.

have a beauty day.

if you have munchkins you love,
make sure to get out today and capture a memory of their beauty at whatever age and stage they're at.

Family Flashback

I was so into doing month and year challenges that i neglected to show you what else i was photographing.
i had shown you some pics from a wedding June 2013. HERE
but what did i do after that?
just challenges?
nope.

November 2013 i did a family photo shoot for a wonderful family.
we had a lot of fun and absolutely beautiful weather.

here's a glimpse of that special memory building day.

what beautiful girls.  so much fun and full of smiles for me.
i love daddy & daughter(s) photos.

love this face!

i was waiting for everyone to be ready for the first part of the shoot.
this little one came out of her room and wandered into the kitchen.
she was talking to herself..or someone in her imagination..
it was so cute.  i had to capture it.

so much fun!
what a wonderful fall day we had.

81/365

day 81.
this was a Practice Portraiture day.
the theme...
On Their Terms.

harder than it sounds.
i wanted the perfect photos.

'do this, no- not that.. c'mon, please.'
i had to bite my tongue a couple times to stop myself from trying to get them to do it my way.
but what great shots i got letting them choose the photo.

'the boys'
my friends' kids.

and my model.
my girl.

 letting kids be kids..
some great fun.

60/365

we're into March.
the first of March was also day 60 of the 365 day challenge.

day 60:
self-portrait.
Step Outside

it was a beautiful day to step outside.
i grabbed my tri-pod and Gertie, and headed out.

i realized i could go a little closer...
so i did.

yes, i stick my tongue out a lot.

i actually really like these pics.
(this last one being my fave.)

34/365 & 37/365

i know, i've missed quite a few days so far in February.
the last entry had day 31.
32- self-portrait: In the Dark.  sorry, planned on doing it...didn't.
33- a silhouette.  no reason. just didn't do it.  obviously i did other things that occupied my time.

day 34:
macro photo
Soft
my fuzzy pom-pom on the top of my toque.

day 35: heartwarming.
day 36: from the top.

day 37:
Shadows.
this was a thursday.
Feb 6th.
my girl and i were about to head out to the Ladies Bible Study i attend each week.
i checked my list of prompts to see that day's prompt.
i looked up from said list and saw the sun shining brightly through our dining room window.
my girl was my model.
we had fun capturing her shadow on the basement door.
i debated cutting her out of the shots and just taking the photos of her shadows, but i thought it'd be fun to see a little of her.

we had fun with the last one.
not easy to pose a 4 year old who isn't quite sure what i'm seeing through my lens.
she listened quite well, and loved seeing the outcome of her grabbing her shadow.

we went to Bible Study.
when we came out of the church a couple hours later it was overcast.
and stayed that way the rest of the day.
so glad i took the opportunity provided in the morning.
so much nicer than artificial light.

17/365 & 18/365

day 17.
Knobby
about 5 years ago we moved into a nice old house.
it has lots of character,
as most 100 year old homes have.
one of the things i love are the doorknobs on our kids bedrooms.
one day i know we'll change them,
but for now i will continue to love these old things.

day 18:
Pose

easy peasy.
the kids told their dad they had their boots on.
we went down and there they were in our boots.
too cute.
i asked if i could get a picture of them.
our boy loved the idea,
our girl took off my boots and got hers on and joined her brother.
they posed for me without any problem.
love these crazy kids.
