Summer Break week 4

week 4 done, and now just a memory.

but full of wonderful memories.

Thursday and Friday morning the kids were in TO.

My parents were up for the weekend.

on Sunday we celebrated my birthday (which was on monday) and my boy's birthday (which would be the following monday)

Monday my parents headed home.

we went to the boardwalk.

my 2nd jump in as a 41 year old.

(my first one was missed - i jumped just before the timer was done)

Tuesday

my kids played at home most of the day.

they had a church service out back.

 then we went to the boardwalk!

Wednesday

we headed to Wasaga Beach with friends.

 another great week!

*too bad our pool is all done for the summer.

Summer Break week 3

Week 3.

Thursday:

The kids played school.

seriously.

all day.

their field trip was to the pool.

Friday morning my girl came to me

"mommy can i use your camera to take a picture of the sunrise? it's beautiful."

i said yes

My boy wanted to make an edible bridge.

he was inspired by a friend who made a rice krispie square pyramid for an end of the year project at school.

so we gathered the necessary items and he got to work.

it looked great.

and tasted yummy!

The same day the girl had a friend over and they played.

after one of their times in the pool they found little moths.

look closely, there it is in her hands.

Saturday:

We went to a summer party for the running club my husband is a member of.

we decided to canoe there.

we had a wonderful adventure.

portaging along the road to get to the water.

the canoe dumping within 10 minutes of starting out.

stopping at the Hunters Bay Trail for a swim and snack.

not knowing officially where the house is.

stopping at friends' so we could ask them which house we were supposed to be at.

Sunday:

we got to see dear friends and their new baby after church.

we had a lazy afternoon.

watching Canada's Worst Driver and some of the Calgary Stampede.

my boy was invited (with his daddy) to go fishing, his first time ever.

so while the boys went fishing, my girl and i went to the theatre and saw 

The Secret Life of Pets.

Monday:

after playing at home most of the day we loaded our bikes in the car and drove to the trail.

we biked from the parking lot, along the trail, to the kids' school.

biked around the school yard, ate a snack and biked back.

back at the car we got our towels, goggles and ball.

and they had a swim before heading home.

Tuesday:

More time at the boardwalk in town.

so much fun.

the wind was chilly but the sun was hot.

on wednesday the kids headed to Toronto with their papa.

i took the beast to the vet, and hung out with my bestie.

it was another great week.

there were lots of indoor times too, 

but i don't like indoor photos very much, so i don't usually capture those memories.

I hope your summer is being enjoyed to the fullest.

i have forgotten to put in photos of a couple wonderful creations the kids have made, 

maybe if i think of it i'll post a summer creations one at the end.

Summer Break Week 2

Week 2 just finished.

it was another great week.

(see week 1 HERE)

Week 2 has consisted of:

in no particular order

swimming at the boardwalk, multiple times.

groceries.

playing at the park.

climbing trees.

swimming in our pool.

eating tim hortons and watching cars drive by.

spending the day at the Limberlost Challenge 

in the rain

cheering on mom and dad in their races.

(mom 14km & dad 56km)

volunteering for the Ironman 70.3

and of course the beach.

another great week.

things are not always perfect.

we fight, we cry, we make mistakes.

but we love each other and make the best of most of the moments.

we apologize.

we forgive.

we laugh, splash, giggle.

we play and challenge each other.

and we enjoy our summer together.

Summer break week 1

it's 4:15pm as i write this.  

one week ago at this time we were getting ice cream to celebrate the end of the school year and the beginning of SUMMER BREAK!

so how have we enjoyed this first week of the summer?

i decided to show you our week through photos...

i didn't take too many.

i was too busy enjoying the moments with them.

Gertie and Chester were with us, however i rarely pulled them out to capture the moment.

Thursday:

 i watched my friends three boys and we played at the park, and in our little above ground pool.

visit to the town library.

we love the library.

friday:

Canada Day!

dan was off work and we enjoyed the day as a family.

we went for a hike.

it was quite rainy.

sword fights happened.

 note my boy's shoes..

they were soaked by the end of the hike.

he wore my runners for the rest of the day.

dinner at swiss chalet, playing at a school yard, fireworks.

saturday and sunday...

family times.

relaxing.

church.

Monday:

i spent some quiet time before the kids got up.

i wrote this out as a memory for what we worked on this past year.

then it was a day of errands.

banking, 

time to buy new shoes:

playing at the park, 

groceries.

home to play in the pool.

Tuesday:

i was watching my friends' two kids.

park, 

skylanders, 

pool.

Today:

library,

bulk barn - my girl had a gift card, she bought her and her brother something.

dollarstore,

tim hortons and then to the boardwalk for some swimming!

                                    

darts, 

and into the pool.

this has been our first week of summer.

maybe the next week will have more photo memories...

maybe not.
