aftermath of yesterday's snowday.

yesterday we had a snow day here in Muskoka.
buses were cancelled.
roads were slippery.
people complained of winter coming back.
it felt like winter yesterday.
this morning we woke with the sun shining brightly, and glistening off the fresh snow.

haha, he blew a little too hard and it blew back in his face.
guess that's what happens when we are rushing it as the bus is pulling up.

this poor boat became frozen in the giant puddle that froze over.

all the puddles froze with a beautiful frost over them.

look at those shadows!

but don't worry.
spring is here.
even with the snowy day yesterday.

as i was walking to the house i spotted this beautiful lady.
i don't know where her nest is built or being built but she's almost ready to lay her eggs.

48/365, 50/365 & 53/365

these three prompts finish off the month of February.
i'm already into the month of March and have done better
(it's the 5th day of march and i've taken 3 days worth haha)

so here we go with 48/365
the 17th day of February.
we went to Family Fun day at Camp Mini Yo We.

Where I Stand
watching my littles walk out to learn ice fishing.

there we are, on Mary Lake.
missing daddy.

finishing up the day.

day 50.
the 19th day of Feb.
Two
my boy lost his two front teeth.
look at that smile!

finally the 22nd of Feb.
we went to dinner at friends'.
they have a beautiful new (to them) puppy.

53/365:
Oh Boy!
(practice portraiture - i chose animal portraiture)

i couldn't take a photo of him and not take one of this beautiful girl.

earlier in the day we blew bubbles in our milk.
Oh Boy!

34/365 & 37/365

i know, i've missed quite a few days so far in February.
the last entry had day 31.
32- self-portrait: In the Dark.  sorry, planned on doing it...didn't.
33- a silhouette.  no reason. just didn't do it.  obviously i did other things that occupied my time.

day 34:
macro photo
Soft
my fuzzy pom-pom on the top of my toque.

day 35: heartwarming.
day 36: from the top.

day 37:
Shadows.
this was a thursday.
Feb 6th.
my girl and i were about to head out to the Ladies Bible Study i attend each week.
i checked my list of prompts to see that day's prompt.
i looked up from said list and saw the sun shining brightly through our dining room window.
my girl was my model.
we had fun capturing her shadow on the basement door.
i debated cutting her out of the shots and just taking the photos of her shadows, but i thought it'd be fun to see a little of her.

we had fun with the last one.
not easy to pose a 4 year old who isn't quite sure what i'm seeing through my lens.
she listened quite well, and loved seeing the outcome of her grabbing her shadow.

we went to Bible Study.
when we came out of the church a couple hours later it was overcast.
and stayed that way the rest of the day.
so glad i took the opportunity provided in the morning.
so much nicer than artificial light.

Day 1

i have assigned myself a 30 day challenge.
day one.
self portrait.

yes, that's me.  the sun wasn't that bright so it's a light shadow.

in the car window.

in the side of the car.  this warps me.. kind of funny.

i did take a couple of my face.. didn't care for them, had more fun trying different shots.

i'm not sad in the last pic, i'm concentrating and forgot to smile.
sorry.

Winter walk: blue

on the weekend i had a chance to take a walk out back.
just me, the dog and my camera.
what a great walk it was.
i got to play with my camera settings.
my goals:
1. to capture the sparkle of the sun off the snow.
2. to capture the bold shadows.

my christmas gift from my husband.

loved these troopers.  hanging on for dear life.

i took this purely because it was a white and a yellow birch.  i'm a geek.

look at the stars on the snow.

"See ya later."

**these are not edited.**
(except for adding my name)
i just feel like showing you what i had originally
